Vietnam urges full compliance with the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia
(VOVWORLD) - Ambassador and permanent representative of Vietnam to ASEAN Ton Thi Ngoc Huong said Vietnam has asked parties to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) to demonstrate their commitment through practical actions, serious implementation, and full compliance with regulations stipulated in the treaty.

At the conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia held on Wednesday at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia, Vietnam called on treaty participants to respect the basic principles and values stated in the ASEAN Charter, the Bali principles for mutually beneficial relations, and ASEAN's perspective on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), to foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation.
Under the theme “Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia: Reflections and Future Direction,” TAC partners affirmed their respect and compliance with the treaty’s legally binding principles and regulations, support for its central role and the process of building the ASEAN Community, and readiness to continue to cooperate and coordinate closely with ASEAN countries to maintain dialogues, build trust, and realize the noble goals of the TAC.
