(VOVworld) – Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Le Ba Trinh received the US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Tom Malinowski in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Assistant Secretary Tom said President Obama’s upcoming visit to Vietnam will be an opportunity for both countries to bolster bilateral ties. He praised Vietnam’s reforms in economics and law to conform to international standards as well as its improvements in human rights and religious freedom, adding that once the draft law on religion and belief is approved by the Vietnam National Assembly more favorable conditions for religious organizations will be created.
