At a press conference on Thursday, Hang said Vietnam called on countries to exercise restraint, not use force, and instead promote dialogue to settle disputes. Hang hopes that Myanmar can resume stability in the interest of its people as well as for the stability of the region.
Hang said, 'Vietnam will continue to cooperate with other Southeast Asian countries to seek solutions to the Myanmar issue. Vietnam has asked Myanmar to ensure safety and legitimate rights for Vietnamese people and enterprises in Myanmar. The Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar is closely following, and regularly contacting local agencies in the Vietnamese community in Myanmar to update information. They will provide prompt warnings to protect citizens.
Hang said about 600 Vietnamese people are living and studying in Myanmar. Amid the complicated situation, individuals that need support, or have information about injured Vietnamese citizens in Myanmar, can contact the Vietnamese embassy or the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry via the hotlines for citizen protection.
