Vietnam welcomes Inter-Korean Summit outcomes
(VOVWORLD) - North and South Korean leaders have concluded their summit in Pyongyang, opening up unprecedented cooperative opportunities for both sides.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang welcomed the summit results in a press briefing on Thursday: “Vietnam welcomes the summit outcomes and the Pyongyang Joint Declaration. We support dialogues and high level exchanges with practical and constructive actions towards denuclearization on the Korean peninsula while promoting dialogues, cooperation for peace and stability in the region and the world.”
Regarding reporters’ questions about British and Japanese naval vessels operation in the East Sea recently, the spokeswoman reiterated Vietnam’s constant view about its sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. She urged countries to respect and comply with international laws while operating in the waters and oceans in general: “As a signatory country to the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and a country on the East Sea, Vietnam reiterated its unswerving view on aviation and navigation freedom in compliance with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Vietnam asks countries to positively and actively contribute to peace, stability while respecting international law and obligations as well as the rule of law in seas and oceans.”
