Vietnam wins AFF Cup 2018
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s national football team becomes winner of the ASEAN Federation Football (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 after defeating Malaysia 1-0 in the return leg of the final in Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium on Saturday.

Striker Nguyen Anh Duc scored the only goal for Vietnam to the cheers of 40,000 fans, including Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, at the packed stadium. Nguyen Quang Hai was named man of the match.

Vietnam edged out Malaysia 3-2 on aggregate. This is the second time Vietnam won the championship after the first time in 2008.
Vietnamese fans wearing red T-shirts and headbands took to street to celebrate the victory overnight.
