Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Tuyet said that the award acknowledges women’s creativity and contribution to national development and defense. It aims to inspire women’s patriotism and responsibility for the nation. Nghiem Thanh Thuy is one of the awardees: “As women shoulder many burdens, they should share and support each other. Women should be facilitated to fulfill their tasks both at home and at work”.

The Vietnam Women Awards were initiated in 2002 and have been presented to nearly 200 outstanding individuals and groups.
