In her opening, Tatiana Valovaya, director general of the UN Office in Geneva (UNOG), said that the fair introduced different cultures around the world and served as bridge between Geneva and international friends.
At the event, Vietnam introduced many unique agricultural and handicraft products to international friends, with the highlight being the lovely and sophisticated stuffed animal products created by disabled artisans from the Hanoi-based Kym Viet JSC.
Vietnam's culinary stalls attracted a large number of tourists who came to enjoy traditional dishes such as Hanoi spring rolls, Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), and Bun Bo Nam Bo (Southern-style rice vermicelli with stir-fried beef)
Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, the WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva, said that in recent years, the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG) has provided support for disadvantaged children, offering relief from natural disasters and epidemics and granting scholarships to children in many countries.
By introducing Vietnamese handicrafts and cuisine at the bazaar, the delegation helped to elevate the image of the nation and its people and made a significant contribution to charity activities run by the UNWG.
