Vietnamese air travel predicted to rebound faster
(VOVWORLD) - Passenger traffic at Vietnamese airports should rebound faster than in other Southeast Asian markets due to Vietnam’s low incidence of COVID-19 cases, Fitch Ratings says.
Fitch Ratings forecast an average RPK (a measure of traffic) for Vietnam of around 55 percent of the baseline level in 2020 and 90 percent in 2021. According to Vietnam Airlines, air traffic is quickly recovering after a second wave of COVID-19 was controlled. In August, Vietnam Airlines served nearly 550,000 passengers.
