Vietnam’s first attendance at the summit was acknowledged with the Mother Goddess Worshiping Museum project by architect Nguyen Ha. In her presentation at the summit, Ha shared about Vietnamese culture reflected in the architectural project which she has pursued over the past 20 years.
Ha introduced history of Vietnam's Mother Goddess worshiping ritual, its influence and practice and her ideas of designing the museum.
Ha’s project made a strong impression on a large number of architects by using ancient tiles to build the museum, creating sacredness through architectural layers as well as the ways she arranged light and created microclimate elements.
Combining traditional and modern methods of construction, the project is a testament to the urbanization process of rural landscapes in Vietnam, while helping preserve and promote a cultural heritage.
