(VOVWORLD) - Over 340 Vietnamese citizens were flown home from Russia on a repatriation flight by Vietnam Airlines on Thursday and Friday as a joint effort of competent authorities of both nations.

The returnees include children under the age of 18, seniors, sick people, pregnant women, people in extremely difficult financial circumstances, workers whose visas expired or lost their jobs, and students whose campuses are closed due to COVID-19.
Security, safety and hygiene measures were followed during the flight to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Upon their arrival at Cam Ranh International Airport, all the crew members and passengers were given medical check-ups and put under quarantine in line with regulations.
