The passengers included children under 18, the elderly, pregnant women, the ill, workers with expired labor contracts and students without accommodations and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances. The Vietnamese Embassy sent its staff members to help the citizens with boarding procedures at the airport.  As soon as the aircraft landed at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport, all crew members and passengers underwent medical check-ups and were transferred to quarantine facilities in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

On Saturday and Sunday, 270 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from Cyprus and Saudi Arabia. Their flight was arranged by the Vietnamese embassy in Italy, which is also in charge of the Republic of Cyprus, along with the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, and the hosts’ relevant agencies. After landing in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, all passengers and crew members had to undergo medical check-ups and were brought to concentrated quarantine establishments as regulated.
