Ms. Bien Thi Ky, an overseas Vietnamese in Laos, met General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his visit to Laos and was impressed with his concern for the overseas Vietnamese community:
She said: "Every time he visited Laos, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always remembered the children of overseas Vietnamese. We heard the General Secretary's loving words of advice and stories about our homeland's development, which made us, those far from home, always turn our hearts to our dear fatherland."

Ms. Trinh Thi Thao, an overseas Vietnamese in Vientiane, remembered General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as a leader who was always close to his people.
"We cannot forget his teachings that 'Our community must love each other, unite, and stay united.' To this day, we still remember and cherish this saying," said Thao.
Mr. Tran Van Bang, Director of HungHeuang Company, who has lived in Laos for over 10 years, said: "I will always remember the very sincere, warm, simple, and close words of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, especially his advice on promoting the tradition of great national unity among every child and overseas Vietnamese. For Vietnamese businesses, it is extremely important to build a thriving, developed, and happy Vietnamese community in Laos."
