Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera received the donation at a ceremony in Hanoi on Wednesday. The gift was given by the staff of Viglacera’s subsidiary Vimariel S.A, which is investing in Cuba’s economic special zone Mariel.
The Cuban diplomat said both the spirit of international solidarity and the tireless efforts put in by the entire political system and competent agencies from both countries will see Vietnam and Cuba stamp out the epidemic in the near future.
In April, the Vietnamese Party, government and people sent 5,000 tons of rice to help Cuba’s COVID-19 fight.
