(VOVworld) – The opening ceremony of Vietnamese Consulate in Nepal was held in Kathmandu on Sunday. Vietnamese Ambassador to Bhutan and Nepal Tôn Sinh Thành, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s representatives, Vietnamese Embassy officials in India, and Nepalese press, attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Thanh praised the opening of Vietnamese Consulate in Nepal, adding that it is an important milestone in Vietnam-Nepal relations, which creates favorable conditions for bilateral trade, and contributes to protecting Vietnamese citizens in Nepal.

Ambassador Thanh congratulated Dr Rajesh Kazi Shrestha on his appointment as Honorary Consul in Nepal. Dr Shrestha pledged to contribute to boosting bilateral trade, investment, culture, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Nepal. Vietnam-Nepal diplomatic relations at ambassador level was established on May 15, 1975.
