Four renowned Vietnamese designers, Minh Hanh, Lan Huong, Quang Nhat, and Chula will introduce their collections at a show called ‘Miraculous Transformation’.
Designer Minh Hanh said the highlight of the collections are ‘Ao dai’, traditional Vietnamese long dresses made of a combination of materials, including denim - a popular material in the US - and silk brocade – a traditional Vietnamese material.
She said “this is the first time Vietnamese fashion will be showcased at a major performing arts center in the US. I think it will be challenging but gratifying for Vietnamese designers. We will have to do our utmost to show the American audience a fresh Vietnam, a nation without the imprint of war, which is our message.”
The show is part of Vietnam Cultural Days in the US, marking the 20th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US diplomatic ties.
