Vietnamese leader praises Vietnam-China defense cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - General Secretary and Secretary of the Central Military Commission To Lam on Thursday met with Senior Lieutenant General Zhang Youxia, Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized the importance of General Zhang's visit in advancing the shared understanding between the top leaders of both countries, reinforcing defense and security cooperation as a key pillar of the Vietnam-China relationship. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the Central Military Commissions and Ministries of National Defense of both nations, urging the two armies to enhance cooperation, manage disagreements, and maintain peace and stability at sea through peaceful, lawful means.

General Zhang affirmed China's strong commitment to its traditional friendship with Vietnam, expressing confidence that Vietnam, under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam, will successfully achieve its centennial goals. He reiterated China’s dedication to implementing high-level agreements and strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the two militaries, contributing to the vision of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.
Earlier the same day, Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang hosted an official ceremony for Senior Lieutenant General Zhang and his delegation.
Following the ceremony, both sides held talks and signed a letter of intent to enhance defense cooperation and an agreement on border cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense of China.
