Trong suggested that Vientiane continue working closely with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese localities to further improve the efficiency of wide-ranging coordination, including sharing experience in the building of the Party and political system, and socio-economic management.

Mayor Khoutphaythoune hailed cooperation between Vientiane and Vietnamese localities, as well as the effective support that Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have provided for the Lao capital in economics, agriculture, tourism, health care, education, culture, experience sharing, and personnel training. 

Meeting with the Lao Mayor, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane and urged the two cities to continue their exchanges and support. He described the special and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos as a priceless common asset the two nations need to treasure and promote. The Government of Vietnam and Hanoi authorities will do their utmost to contribute to the construction and development of Vientiane, the PM said.
