Norwegian businesses are interested in Vietnam’s potential in hydro-electricity, oil and gas, shipbuilding, maritime operations, and aquaculture. In an address ahead of Norwegian crown prince Haakon Magnus’s visit to Vietnam, acting President and CEO of Innovation Norway Finn Kristian Aamodt said Vietnam is becoming a significant target for Norwegian businesses. Aamodt said two-way trade remains modest compared to the two countries’ potentials and aspirations.
Astri Sophie Platou, Director of the International Business Section of the Oslo Chamber of Commerce, which provides assistance to foreign firms doing business in Norway, said Vietnamese businesses will find many investment and trading opportunities in Norway’s market.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Norway Le Thi Tuyet Mai said Vietnam and Norway expect to conclude FTA negotiations for an early signing which will create favorable conditions for investment and bilateral trade. Both will also promote business exchanges and organize trade promotion forums in areas such as navigation, seafood, oil and gas, and clean energy
