(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that the Vietnamese Party and state respect and ensure people’s freedom of religion and belief.

At a meeting with President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha the Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue on the 2559^th birthday of Buddha on Thursday, Mr. Phuc acknowledged the contributions made by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to Vietnam’s successes. He said that the Party and state always create favorable conditions for religious dignitaries and followers to practice their religion and lead a good religious and secular life. He said he hoped that all religions in Vietnam, particularly Buddhism would contribute to the formulation of a law on religion and belief, which will create a legal framework for further religious development.
