Vietnamese peacekeepers ready to respond to non-traditional security challenges

(VOVWORLD) - During its half a year in South Sudan, Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No2 has treated nearly 1,000 cases, including one suspected case of COVID-19, according to Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh in a recent interview with Vietnam News Agency.

Vinh said the UN has praised the field hospital and its staff in Bentiu, South Sudan.

According to Vinh, every officer, including those with no medical background, has been trained in COVID-19 prevention. Level-2 Field Hospital No2 has been equipped with ventilators and medicines. The Defence Ministry has allocated 86,000 USD to buy medical supplies for the hospital.
