At a reception for visiting Governor of the Moscow province of Moscow Oblast, Andrei Vorobyov, in Hanoi on Thursday, President Sang stressed that Vietnam attaches great importance to relations with traditional friends, including Russia. Sang said apart from oil and gas, Vietnam is keen to work with Russia in other fields, not only within the country but in other Southeast Asian nations. President Sang expressed his belief that with the support of the Governor and other relevant Russian agencies, there will be more projects in their respective countries, including those on food run by Vietnamese businesses in Russia. The host said he believes Vorobyov’s visit will be a success, contributing to cementing commitments made by Vietnamese and Russian leaders and enhancing the traditional friendship between the two countries. Andrei Vorobyov said his visit aimed to work with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and enterprises to establish a Vietnamese industrial zone in the province specialising in dairy production and light industry products. He said Russia will create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the Moscow province and wishes to speed up the construction of the Russian-invested Ninh Thuan nuclear power project in Vietnam while strengthening cooperation with the country in petro-chemistry.

Receiving the Governor of the Moscow province of Moscow Oblast, Andrei Vorobyov in Hanoi on Thursday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of working with Russia to deepen bilateral cooperation. At the upcoming session of the two countries’ Joint Commission for Cooperation, the two sides will discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation, especially in economics, trade, investment, tourism, energy, science and technology. The Prime Minister said he hope Moscow would further promote cooperation with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city.
