(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese team ended its most successful Olympics ever with one gold and one silver medal, both won by shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh.

Vietnam ranked 48
th among the 206 countries and territories that took part in the Rio Olympics. Head of the Vietnamese team at the Rio 2016 Olympics Tran Duc Phan said the Vietnamese team has had a successful Olympics. Shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh won medals for the Vietnamese team, helping to raise Vietnamese sport’s position in the world.
The Rio 2016 Olympics took place from 5 - 21 August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with 28 sporting events. The Vietnamese team consisted of 23 athletes, competing in athletics, badminton, fencing, gymnastics, judo, rowing, shooting, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling.
