Vietnamese top legislator urges Russian President to support parliamentary cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue to support the cooperation between the two countries' legislatures, saying it is one of the important pillars of the friendship and cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Speaking at a meeting on Thursday with the Russian President during the latter's State visit to Vietnam, the Vietnamese top legislator congratulated Russia for successfully organizing the Russian Presidential election in 2024.

President Putin emphasized that inter-parliamentary cooperation and cooperation between political parties of the two countries is of great importance and a good basis for promoting relations between the two Parliaments and building a legal corridor to strengthen bilateral ties.
President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Russia's priority is to promote relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), saying the cooperation will create space for the development of both sides.
