(VOVworld)-The anniversary marking the 40^th year of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Italy took place yesterday/ on Monday in Rome.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese high-ranking delegation on an official visit to Italy has participated at the event. Foreign Affairs Minister Pham Binh Minh hail the importance of the celebration:" Marking the 40^th anniversary of our diplomatic ties is an occasion for all of us to review  the passing years with great esteem, as well as to looking forward to future with new cooperation prospects. Having enjoyed the sound friendship and remarkable developments in bilateral relations, Vietnam and Italy have established a strategic partnership during the visit of Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong to Italy,  to further intensify cooperation in the existing areas and expand it to new fields."

Minister Pham Binh Minh highlighted that for Vietnam, Italy is an important partner in Europe as well as the world. Vietnam is always ready to deepen the bilateral relationship between two countries.
