Vietnam-Japan strengthen cooperation in helping AO/dioxin victims
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has called on Japanese Buddhists to do more to help victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Vietnam.

Nguyen Van Rinh, President of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) received on Monday a delegation from the Kyoto Buddhist Church and the Japan Peace and Religion Commission, led by the Superior Monk Mitagi Tainen, manager of Shogoin Monzeki Pagoda. Mr. Rinh highlighted the assistance Vietnamese AO victims receive from in and outside the country.
Superior Monk Mitagi Tainen said that in August, 2019, the Kyoto Buddhist Church and the Japan Peace and Religion Commission would send a hundred or so Japanese singers and musicians to Vietnam for a fundraising concert for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
VAVA awarded the insignia "For the Victims of Agent Orange" to five people who contributed much to the care of these victims.
