Vietnam-Lao friendship consolidated
(VOVWORLD) -60 scholars and researchers clarified the importance of the special Vietnam-Lao special ties at a national workshop held in Son La province on Saturday.

The event marked the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Lao diplomatic ties on September 5 and 40th anniversary of the signing of bilateral Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
Assoc.Prof. and Dr. Nguyen Van Lich of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam said the relationship between the two countries’ relationship is based on friendship treaties and the exchanges of high-level visits between localities. Prof. Dr. Do Thanh Binh of Hanoi Pedagogy University said the two Parties and States’ keen interest in education cooperation has made two nations closer to each other and helped in both sides’ revolutionary victories. Researchers proposed that Vietnam and Laos strengthen their coordination at regional and global forums, jointly manage and use effectively the Mekong water resource, and successfully celebrate major anniversaries this year.
