The event marked the 55^th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Lao diplomatic ties on September 5 and 40^th anniversary of the signing of bilateral Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Assoc.Prof. and Dr. Nguyen Van Lich of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam said the relationship between the two countries’ relationship is based on friendship treaties and the exchanges of high-level visits between localities. Prof. Dr. Do Thanh Binh of Hanoi Pedagogy University said the two Parties and States’ keen interest in education cooperation has made two nations closer to each other and helped in both sides’ revolutionary victories. Researchers proposed that Vietnam and Laos strengthen their coordination at regional and global forums, jointly manage and use effectively the Mekong water resource, and successfully celebrate major anniversaries this year.
