(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang and visiting Lao President hosted a media conference to announce the success of the Vietnam-Lao Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012. Sang said both countries jointly organized diverse and practical activities, which attracted the participation of people, agencies and organizations: “The year 2012 has come to a close, but the results of the Friendship and Solidarity Year has created an important momentum to lift bilateral ties to a new height. I believe that with success of the year 2012, both countries will continue to work closely to deepen ties for the benefits of the peoples, and for regional peace, stability, development and prosperity. Together with Party General Secretary and President Chummaly Sayasone, I declare the Vietnam-Lao and Lao-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012 was a success. We wish our relationship will be stable and green forever”.

President Sayasone said: “Despite changes of regional and global situation, the Party, State and people of Laos together with our Vietnamese comrades will continue to preserve our special solidarity, considering it a priceless asset and an endless strength for us on our path to development. We will follow President Kaysone Phomvihane’s teachings that “The rivers may become dry and the mountains may be worn out, but the friendship and special relationship between Laos and Vietnam will last forever.”
