(VOVworld)-Two-way trade between Vietnam and Mexico in 2011 reached 1 billion USD, an increase of nearly 14% compared to 2010 and a record high in the history of bilateral economic and trade relations.
The Commercial Office of Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico reported that for the first time, the two-way trade turnover has exceeded 1 billion USD and the value of Vietnam’s exports to Latin America’s second largest economy accounted for over 973 million USD, up 16% compared with last year, while imports were at 64 million USD, down nearly 19%.
Vietnamese Trade Counselor to Mexico Hoang Anh Dung said that Vietnam's exports to Mexico have increased year after year.
In 2011, Mexico's total trade turnover reached 700 billion USD, of which exports increased by 17%, imports 16% and the trade deficit stood at over 1.1 billion USD, 6.1% lower than 2010.
