The Ambassador gave the statement at Thursday’s ceremony to mark the 77th National Day of Vietnam in Singapore, attracting more than 300 local guests and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the host country.

Singaporean Minister of Communications and Information Josephine Teo said Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia and an important partner and friend of Singapore in the ASEAN.

Both have cooperated closely in key areas of trade, investment, finance, security and defence, she said, adding that the two sides have expanded their partnership to many new areas including cybersecurity, smart city building, sustainable development, and digital economy.
