(VOVworld) – The 60th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is taking place in New York from March 14-24.

In her address, Vietnamese Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen presented Vietnam’s achievements in women empowerment. She said the Vietnamese state is implementing gender equality and ensuring the rights of women and girls by incorporating them in the legal system. Vietnam is committed to pushing ahead with legislation and law enforcement concerning gender equality and introducing women empowerment in the national sustainable growth and economic development agenda. Chuyen said Vietnam hopes it will have more opportunities to take part in the discussions and meetings of this year’s session to seek appropriate solutions and priorities for women empowerment now that member countries have begun to implement their commitments to UN Sustainable Development Goals.
