Vietnam’s active contribution to UN Human Rights Council

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will lead a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 25th summit and annual session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday. This will be the first time that Vietnam attends the Council’s summit since it was elected a member last November. The event will draw the participation of leaders from 80 countries and international organizations. Deputy Prime Minister Minh will deliver a speech at the summit, which will highlight Vietnam’s policies, efforts and achievements in ensuring and promoting human rights as well as its determination to implement its commitments. Mr. Minh will also share Vietnam’s priorities in human rights in the years to come. Vietnam’s consistent policy is to consolidate cooperation and constructive dialogue in the UN Human Rights Council.
