Vietnam’s aquatic export to reach 11 billion USD in 2022
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s aquatic product exports are projected to earn a record 11 billion USD this year, up 23.8% from last year, and 22% above the plan.

According to the Vietnam Directorate of Fisheries, the sector’s total output exceeded 9 million tons, up 3.1% from 2021, surpassing the annual average growth during the 2021-2030 period under the Vietnamese fisheries development strategy till 2030 with a vision to 2045.
Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said the sector’s achievements have made Vietnam the world’s third biggest aquatic products exporter.
“This is the premise for the Ministry to review the fisheries development strategy to 2030 and a vision to 2045. Next year, the Ministry will direct the Directorate of Fisheries to implement solutions to achieve the target export growth and turnover,” said Tien.
Next year, the sector will strive to maintain a total aquaculture area of 1.3 million ha, and harvest 8.74 million tons of aquatic products worth 10 billion USD.
