Vietnam’s consistent policy of promoting human rights
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s consistent policy is to promote human rights including fundamental rights stipulated in the 2013 Constitution and related legal documents, says Vietnam's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.
In response to the Freedom House’s report which says Vietnam continued to be in the group of countries that have ‘no freedom’, Le Thi Thu Hang said over the past few years, Vietnam has fine-tuned its legal system to better ensure human rights and citizen’s rights as well as promoting international cooperation in human rights.
Hang said within the framework of the 3rd Universal Periodical Review of the UN Security Council in 2019, most participating countries praised Vietnam’s efforts and achievements and supported its approach and constructive recommendations.
