Vietnam’s daily COVID-19 cases drop by 5,100 on Monday
(VOVWORLD) - From 4 p.m. on Sunday to 4 p.m. on Monday, Vietnam recorded 23,184 COVID-19 cases, of which 3 were imported and 23,181 were detected in 61 out of 63 provinces and cities, a decrease of more than 5,100 cases compared to Saturday. Vietnam’s caseload has so far reached more than 10.25 million.
On Monday, an additional 22,400 recoveries were reported, raising the total number of recoveries to nearly 8.56 million. There were 17 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
By Monday, Vietnam administered a total of over 208.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. All people aged 18 or older got two doses of vaccine. The rate of third dose injection was 51.3%.
The Ministry of Health has worked closely with vaccine suppliers, international organizations and foreign governments to secure enough COVID-19 vaccine to be given to children from 5 to under 12 years old. With donated and purchased vaccine sources, vaccination for children of this age group is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022.
