Vietnam’s daily COVID-19 cases hit all-time high on Wednesday

(VOVWORLD) - From 4 p.m. on Tuesday to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Vietnam confirmed an additional 60,355 new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily number so far.

Of the newly-detected cases, 17 cases were imported and 60,338 were recorded domestically in 62 out of 63 provinces and cities. Vietnam has to date recorded a total of 2,972,378 cases of COVID-19.

On Wednesday, an additional 15,641 patients were announced recover from the disease, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,320,722. In the past 24 hours, 91 deaths were reported. 

Vietnam has administered more than 192.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. 59 out of 63 provinces and cities reported a vaccination rate of more than 90% for people aged 18 years and older.

16,964,195 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to people aged 12-17. Localities nationwide are speeding up vaccination to complete the Spring Immunization Campaign by February 28.
