Vietnam’s electronics industry urged to find remedies
(VOVWORLD) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises have helped boost Vietnam’s electronics industry in recent years.
Ministry of Industry and Trade statistics show that there are 660 enterprises in support industries. But, the number of domestic enterprises remains small.
The President of the Vietnam Electronics Industries Association Luu Hoang Long said enterprises should identify weaknesses in the supply chain and find remedies to enhance Vietnam’s position in the electronics industry. He said: “Though we are part of the electronics supply chain, most of our involvement is in assembly. We haven’t been able to produce basic components like chips, conductors, and resistors. This will provide opportunities for further investment.”
