(VOVWORLD) -Trade turnover between Vietnam and the US exceeded 7.8 billion USD in February, up 3% from the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam’s export turnover to the US was 6.9 billion USD, an increase of 6%.
The US remains Vietnam’s largest export market, with total trade estimated to be 13 billion USD in the first two months of this year.
Vietnam’s major exports to the US with a turnover of more than 1 billion USD included machines, computers, electronics, mobile phones and parts, and garments and textiles. Vietnam’s seafood exports to the US earned 164 million USD in February.
Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import and Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “Vietnam’s exports have seen seen strong growth. Transportation costs to the US and Europe have returned to pre- COVID-19 rates or even lower, which has helped to boost exports.”
