Vietnam’s FDI capital sets 10-year record in 2019
(VOVWORLD) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) pledged to Vietnam surpassed 38 billion USD this year, marking a 10-year high, according to the Foreign Investment Agency.

Nearly 3,900 new projects were licensed during the year, up 27% from 2018. The capital was mainly directed into processing, manufacturing, real estate, wholesale, retail, and technology.
South Korea remained Vietnam’s leading source of FDI with nearly 8 billion USD, followed by Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and China. Hanoi attracted the largest share of capital commitments with 8.5 billion USD. HCM City came second and Binh Duong province was third.
