At a reception for Adam Boehler, CEO of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Mr. Phuc called on the agency to invest in major projects such as the transnational expressway and Long Thanh International Airport.

He welcomes the US Export-Import Bank’s plan to expand investment in Vietnam. The Prime Minister said Vietnam aims to ensure long-term financial stability, and minimize external impacts through flexible monetary policy tools. The State Bank of Vietnam manages its forex policy in accordance with common monetary policies to maintain macroeconomic stability. Vietnam’s forex policy is not meant to create advantages for international trade or support production.

He proposed that CEO Boehler ask the US President, the US Trade Representative, and other US agencies to help Vietnam implement an action plan toward balanced trade reached last year and have a more objective assessment on Vietnam in line with US commitments to a strong, independent, and prosperous Vietnam.

Mr. Boehler said DFC will invest strongly in Vietnam and the US Export-Import Bank will conduct a big transaction in the country soon.
