In the first edition, VIFA ASEAN 2023 attracted nearly 200 businesses including prestigious domestic and foreign wood and fine art manufacturers. More than 2,000 international visitors also registered.
Tran Hoai Huu, Director of Gia Nhien Company specializing in manufacturing and exporting handicrafts, said that demand appears to bounce back as many cusomers have contacted with the company since the beginning of this month.
“We’re negotiating many contracts which can potentially become orders. We’ve developed a promotion strategy to look for new customers, particularly from Asia, a very potential market,” said Huu.
Southeast Asia has become an important and dynamic economic area and is one of leading manufacturing and supplying centers for handicrafts and interior and exterior wooden furniture of the world.
Vietnam ranks first in Southeast Asia and second in Asia in wood product exports. The organization of the VIFA ASEAN Expo 2023 is part of an effort to make Ho Chi Minh City one of ASEAN’s trade promotion centers for home decor.
