Vietnam's economy in the first three months of 2022 has seen many positive changes compared to the previous year, Nguyen Thi Huong, General Director of GSO, said at a press conference announcing socio-economic statistics in the first quarter.
The service industry is bouncing back and the industrial sector is developing quite well, especially manufacturing, she noted, adding that total trade grew 19% and the number of foreign arrivals surged 90%.
“We need to continue to effectively implement government resolutions on socio-economic recovery and development and adapting to and controlling the pandemic," General Director Huong proposed measures to achieve this year’s GDP growth target of 6.5%.
"It’s crucial to disburse 100% public investment, maintain macroeconomic stability, boost production, and gradually ensure self-sufficiency in raw materials,” she said.
