Experts said recent policy changes are expected to open up big opportunities for Vietnam to attract more foreign investment, including capital through M&A. Vietnam has sought to revise the Law on Investment, the Law on Enterprises and the Law on Securities; and to adopt a resolution on foreign investment attraction; and signed new-generation free trade agreements.

Experts called on the Government and relevant agencies to take more aggressive measures to improve the investment and business climate and facilitate the domestic and foreign capital flow in M&A.

They also called on the State to divest its capital from SOEs more strongly while promoting the involvement of private firms in M&A.
