The agreement, signed by Chairman Hue and Speaker of the Senate Beatriz Argimon Cedeira and Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives Sebastian Andujar, demonstrates the Uruguayan parliament’s and political parties’ respect for cooperation with Vietnam.
Under the document, the two sides will accelerate efforts to strengthen relations through information exchange, consultation, training and delegation exchange. They will also share experiences in law building and support each other at international forums.
During talks with the two Speakers earlier the same day, Chairman Hue said his visit shows that Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening relations with traditional friendly countries in Latin America and the desire to promote comprehensive cooperation with Uruguay across all levels.
Hailing Vietnam as one of the dynamic developing countries with an important role and position in the Asia-Pacific and the world, the hosts said they believe that cooperation with Vietnam is a great opportunity for Uruguay's regional and global integration process.
They affirmed that Uruguay's opening of an embassy in Hanoi demonstrates the country's determination and efforts to enhance bilateral relations for long-term development.
