Vietnam’s provinces reject China’s approval of “Sansha city"
(VOVworld) – Leaders of the central province of Khanh Hoa and Da Nang city on Saturday voiced their objection to China’s recent approval of the establishment of the so-called “Sansha city” that covers Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa province’s People’s Committee, Nguyen Chien Thang said Spratly is an integral part of Vietnam’s territory and under management of Khanh Hoa province. He added the people and authorities of Khanh Hoa province is discontented with China’s establishment of Sansha city in Spratly archipelago. The decision seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty and has no legal basis. The province strongly protests this move and asked China to stop its decision and any activity that harm the relations and friendship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Van Huu Chien, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang city which administer Paracel, voiced opposition to China’s decision, which he said is unreasonable and has no legal basis.
