The General Department of Customs said Vietnam's seafood exports in September exceeded 814 million USD, showing a nearly 5% increase in exports to the US, which totaled 150 million USD.
This is the second consecutive month of positive growth in seafood exports to the US, driven by increased year-end demand, particularly for shrimp and pangasius.
Vietnam's seafood products, particularly shrimp, tuna, and pangasius, showed strong growth this year. Le Hang of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), said that the production of white-leg shrimp and pangasius for certain markets is showing signs of recovery. Freshwater fish and crab exports demonstrated strong growth, not only in September, but throughout the third quarter, indicating a positive trend for the final months of the year.
