(VOVworld) -  Vietnam’s track-and field athletes will compete at the 2016 Olympics, said leaders of the Vietnam Athletics Federation at a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday to announce its 2016 sponsors.

Athletics is the official sport at all world sporting events and the sport which Vietnamese athletes are good at. Vietnam won 2 gold medals at the 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championships last month and 2 official slots at the 2016 Olympics.

This year, the Vietnam Athletics Federation has 3 sponsors. The Federation will use their funding to award 2.200 USD to each of the Olympics athletes and 2.000 USD to all outstanding coaches and athletes at the 17th Asian Junior Athletics Championships
