Vietnam-US Defense Policy Dialogue opens in New York
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for South and Southeast Asia Joseph Felter co-chaired a Vietnam-US defence policy dialogue in Washington D.C on Tuesday.

The two sides learned of updated security challenges in the Asian-Pacific region, and discussed solutions to fostering bilateral cooperation within the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership.
They shared viewpoints on global and regional issues of mutual concern. Both sides evaluated their cooperation outcomes for the year and sketched out orientations for the affiliation in 2018 and in following years.
On the occasion, Vinh handed over to the US two sets of documents supporting the MIA search. Dr. Felter gave Vinh personal belongings of a Vietnamese soldier who died during the war with the hope that he will bring it to the martyrs’ family.
