Virtual summit of BRICS leaders to be held in late June
(VOVWORLD) -Weeks after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to Delhi, India has agreed to attend a virtual summit of leaders of the BRICS including Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa grouping, to be held at the end of June.

The meeting will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same platform as Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and leaders from Brazil and South Africa for the first time since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began.
Significantly, leaders from the G-7 group comprised of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Canada and the US will meet in the Bavarian Alps on June 26-28, just a couple of days after the proposed BRICS summit June 23-24 .
BRICS representatives expressed support for dialogues and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in order to find a solution. They reiterated their stance on the Ukraine issue, pledged to support multilateralism, and adhere to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
