(VOVWORLD) - Visit Vietnam Year 2023 came to a close on Wednesday evening in Phan Thiet city of the south-central province of Binh Thuan.

Theme “Binh Thuan–Green Convergence”, the tourism promotion program encompassed 200 events and activities in 41 provinces and cities nationwide, of which more than 30 have been organized in the host locality.
In his closing address, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that the events and activities have created positive effects, attracting the attention of a large number of people, and mobilizing community strength in promoting tourism to recover quickly, and develop effectively and sustainably.
The success of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 has aided the recovery of Vietnam’s tourism, Cuong added.
This year, Vietnam welcomed more than 12.5 million foreign visitors and 108 million domestic ones, and earned an estimated 27.5 billion USD.
Vietnam won 54 prizes at the 2023 World Travel Awards-Asia and Oceania region, which helps affirm the brand, role and position of Vietnam on the world tourism map.
The host of the Visit Vietnam Year 2024 will be Dien Bien province in the northwestern mountainous region.
