As this is the penultimate round of the first stage, when the match results can affect the championship race or relegation, organizers decided that seven pairs of matches will take place at the same time, starting at 5 pm. The provinces and cities have approved stadiums eligible to welcome the audience back.

Da Nang and Quang Nam, the epicenters of the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak late July, will resume matches with fans' attendance in the stadiums. Quang Nam will sell 3,000 tickets of the match it will host against the defending champion Hanoi. Da Nang have not issued tickets, but allowed 200 staff members and guests to enter the stadium for the match between SHB Da Nang and Hai Phong. Cam Pha is the only stadium without audience in round 12.

The first stage of V-League 2020 will end after round 13 on October 1. The top eight teams will fight for the championship, while the lower six teams will compete to avoid being  relegated.
